The Burj Khalifa will be lit up with a special laser light show featuring messages from the crowd to mark Chinese New Year.

The show will run from February 4, 5 and 6 at 8pm and people can take part by tweeting their wishes for the year ahead at Emaar’s Twitter handle, and some will be displayed on the Burj Khalifa’s LED screen.

The show will include images of a Chinese boy decorating a peach blossom and hanging a lantern on the tree for New Year. An Emirati child joins him on screen and the Chinese child will be seen visiting the Emirati family to gift red envelopes, a tradition on New Year.
There will also be roaming live performances along Burj Plaza and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, while The Dubai Fountain will also be decorated.

The Dubai Mall will host China Art to mark the occasion until February 10, which will celebrate art from China. The mall will also have a Chinese musician performing live.
