Bricks wash ashore after ship sinks off Dubai coast

Thousands of bricks have been washing ashore in Umm Al Quwain after the sinking of a foreign freight ship eight miles off the Dubai shore last week.

Bricks washed up along the UAQ coastline after a ship carrying bricks sank in the Arabian Gulf.

Bricks have been washing ashore in Umm Al Quwain after the sinking of a foreign freight ship eight miles from the Dubai shore last week.

The overloaded ship was transporting the bricks to Iraq when high winds caused it to capsize.

Dubai Police marine patrols rescued the ship's seven-man crew, but the ship sank along with its 1,500-tonne cargo of building materials.

The Ministry of Environment and Water, in coordination with UAQ authorities, are removing the bricks and cleaning the shore.
