A national search for young art and music talents, “Making Waves” was launched by the organisers of the Volvo Ocean Race.

Two winners will see their work featured on the race’s official digital channels as well as at stopovers around the world.

The contest is open to UAE residents aged 18 to 35, and offers a chance to win Dh4,700 in each category. The art category includes painting, photography and digital. For music, the categories are dance, pop, electro, indie or rock acts.

Contestants can sign up until November 16 and upload a sample of their work on http://making-waves-music.pgtb.me/X1CjFb and http://making-waves-art.pgtb.me/DJdW9r.

Fans can vote on Facebook and a jury will choose the winners before November 20. Winners will create an original theme inspired by the Volvo Ocean Race and Abu Dhabi, where the race village will be open at the Breakwater Corniche from December 12 to January 3.
