The Council of Senior Scholars at the Al Azhar Mosque praised the UAE for its support of Egypt in overcoming the crisis it faced over the past few years, commending the country’s tireless efforts in serving Arab and Islamic nations, and its resolve to fulfil the interest of Islam and Muslims.
During the meeting, which was chaired by Ahmed Mohammed Ahmed El Tayeb, grand imam of Al Azhar, council members expressed their thanks to the UAE’s leadership for its support of Al Azhar in its scientific and religious progress.
In a statement, Al Azhar stressed the importance of the recent visit by Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to exchange views and continued support and to spread Islam’s message of tolerance.
