A total of 600 tonnes of plastic, wood and animal waste have been transported within the framework of Al Ain Municipality’s cleanliness campaign, that targets 2,500 farms in Al Yahar and Al Saad areas.

The campaign was launched in August as part of a series of periodic campaigns undertaken by the municipality to preserve the appearance of the city, maintain the safety of its residents and properties, and achieve sustainable development as well as promote high standards of living in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The municipality had already issued 136 warnings and 244 instructions to farm owners after noticing incorrectly disposed wastes on the sides of the roads and alleys, and had granted them a grace period to eliminate the violations and ensure their non-recurrence.

The campaign is divided into four phases: the first two were implemented in September and October, while the final two phases will be implemented by year end. A dedicated team are charged with raising awareness among farm owners and controlling the properties that are in violation.
