Two Emirati men and 11 Asian labourers were rescued in Masfout following the flooding on Wednesday.

Ajman Police rescued the two Emiratis with the help of residents after the pair’s car was swept into a valley, said Brig Sheikh Sultan Al Nuaimi, general commander of Ajman Police.

Police also saved passengers from 16 vehicles caught in the flooded valleys.

Eleven workers were rescued after becoming trapped by floods, he said.

“Police put huge effort into rescuing the residents of the area from a torrential water stream in Wadi Masfout due to heavy rains accompanied with strong winds,” Brig Al Nuaimi said.

He urged residents to take precautions when the weather was so unpredictable and to drive carefully and avoid valleys.
