School pupils who get bullied, or fear being bullied, will now be able to directly contact police through Ajman police's latest digital service announced during Gitex.
Maj Gen Shaikh Sultan Bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, commander-in-chief of Ajman police, launched the new service, referred to as Students Problems, on Tuesday.
The service allows Ajman pupils to report incidents related to school violence, bullying and skipping school as well as any other emergency that takes place on school premises.
Maj Gen Al Nuaimi launched a number of other services that will also be available on the police's smart application, including a facial recognition feature that uses artificial intelligence and a smart camera system to allow the user to access personal data so it does not need to be stored on the phone.
Other services include reporting a traffic accident using your current location, finding, calling or navigating the nearest police stations and other important locations like hospitals and pharmacies.
A service dedicated to disabled people is also available.
Sharjah police also announced three projects during Gitex 2018, including a smart security analysis system, which is focused on anticipating and predicting future crimes.
Ajman police's app was developed in-house by Emiratis.
