ABU DHABI // Police have urged tourists not to carry large amounts of money as this could draw unwanted attention and put them at risk of being victims of crime.
Major Mazyad Fahad Al-Otaibi, deputy head of Tourist Police in Abu Dhabi, also said tourists and visitors should adhere to the laws of the UAE, respect local traditions and avoid uncivilized behaviour.
Maj Al-Otaibi said the police carry out intensive preventive measures to provide protection and peace of mind for visitors at popular sites such as beaches, especially during religious and national holidays.
