Abu Dhabi Media has signed a deal to share its archives with the National Centre for Documentation and Research.

The agreement means ADM, which publishes The National, will have use of the media archives belonging to the centre.

The centre is part of the Ministry of Presidential Affairs.

As part of the agreement, the centre will provide ADM with 4,000 hours of film in digital format.

ADM will provide expertise and consultancy to the centre on documentary films and digital content.

It will give the centre digital copies of all of its archived media content, including print, radio and television. The agreement is for three years.

The partnership will also maintain the electronic archives of the late President Sheikh Zayed at the centre.

“The national archives document our history as a nation and serve as an important reference for researchers and experts,” said Saif Ghobash, chief operating officer of ADM.

“Such partnerships are key to Abu Dhabi Media’s fulfilment of its strategy and we aim to further strengthen this collaboration through the exchange of knowledge and expertise.”

Majed Al Muhairi, the centre’s executive director, said the agreement was mutually beneficial.

“We will continue building on Abu Dhabi Media’s archived content, which documents our current progress and the successes of our leaders across the nation,” Mr Al Muhairi said.
