DUBAI // Abu Dhabi Media has appointed a new chief commercial officer, amid a shift in the company’s commercial operating model.
Abdulwahed Juma Almuwalekh, deputy chief commercial officer since January last year, has replaced Raja Halabi, who had held the position from 2008.
Saif Saeed Ghobash, acting chief executive officer of ADM, said the company was shifting towards a client-centric model.
“Such a shift in the commercial division’s operating model will help ADM better understand its clients’ needs, excel in multi-platform selling and align to constantly changing dynamics in the marketplace,” said Mr Ghobash.
“Abdulwahed’s unique background will help him champion the successful implementation of the new model.
“We thank Raja for his monumental role in building the commercial division and driving its continuous success.”
Mr Almuwalekh has spearheaded Emiratisation within the sales field at ADM since joining the company.
He is a seasoned sales professional with a wealth of experience and knowledge within the marketplace.
Prior to joining ADM, Mr Almuwalekh was the senior vice president of communications and marketing at First Gulf Bank, where he played an active role in developing the company’s corporate brand and managing its public relations.
Earlier in his career, Mr Almuwalekh held the position of chief commercial officer of publishing at Dubai Media Incorporated. Mr Almuwalekh holds an MBA from The American University in Dubai.
