Wrestlemania 32 results: How did our WWE predictions pan out?

More WWE: Predictions for Wrestlemania 32 | Podcast | Video: Cesaro on Dubai tour

Graham Caygill isn’t in today because he’s hopefully sleeping off the SIX-AND-A-HALF-HOUR Wrestlemania 32, which ended just after sunrise in the UAE.

But his absence won’t stop us from seeing how his predictions last week measure up to what actually happened. Let’s judge him!

The Undertaker v Shane McMahon, Hell in the Cell

Caygill's pick: Shane McMahon to shock the world

Actual result: Nope. The Undertaker won despite a death-defying dive from McMahon off the top of the Cell.

Triple H v Roman Reigns for WWE Heavyweight title

Caygill's pick: Roman Reigns, yawn

Actual result: This predictable result not only went through without incident, but surprisingly closed the show. Congrats to Roman and Graham.

Brock Lesnar v Dean Ambrose in no-holds barred street fight

Caygill's pick: Lesnar

Actual result: Lesnar, in a shorter-than-expected match that had a disappointing lack of violence.

Intercontinental Title ladder match

Caygill's pick: Champion Kevin Owens to retain over Dolph Ziggler, Sami Zayn, Stardust, Sin Cara, The Miz and Zack Ryder

Actual result: Ryder? Ryder!

Can’t fault Graham for missing this one as absolutely nobody saw this coming. The show-opening match was entertaining and had the most legitimately surprising result on the card. Ryder has barely been on TV for years, and his inclusion in the match was surprising enough. Giving him the win was a nice show of respect to the veteran performer.

Unfortunately, the rest of the show failed to live up to this initial shock.

AJ Styles v Chris Jericho

Caygill's pick: Styles

Actual result: Jericho

OK, this was a bit of a surprise as well. That’s two right and three wrong so far for Graham, for those keeping score at home.

The New Day v League of Nations

Caygill's pick: The New Day

Actual result: League of Nations, with Sheamus getting the pin. Then a bunch of old guys came out and beat them up.

Two wins, four losses so far. Graham is doing bad and he should feel bad. But watching The New Day come out of a giant box of cereal should cheer him up.

Charlotte v Becky Lynch v Sasha Banks for the new WWE Women’s title

Caygill's pick: Banks

Actual result: Charlotte, who trades in the garish, retired Divas title for the shiny, new Women's belt.

Solid match with a somewhat deflating result. Banks was the clear fan-favourite, but will have to wait to win the title.

Kalisto v Ryback for the US title

Caygill's pick: Kalisto

Actual result: Kalisto

Decent match that opened the pre-show, which feels like a billion years ago because the rest of the show was so long.

Team Total Divas v Team Something Something

Caygill's pick: Divas, with Brie Bella getting the pin.

Actual result: This exactly. Graham nailed this pre-show, 10-Divas tag-team match.

Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

Caygill's pick: Bray Wyatt, who wound up not even being in the match.

Actual result: NXT stand-out Baron Corbin was given a vote of confidence with this surprising win.

We'll give Graham a Mulligan on this one since his man was given a bigger job being served up to The Rock, and since WWE probably didn't book the match until right before it happened anyway.

Also: Shaq!

The Usos v The Dudley Boyz

Caygill's pick: The Usos

Actual result: I completely forgot because it was that forgettable. Let me look it up for journalism's sake ...

...

...

Graham got it right! Usos won via pinfall.

All told that was five right and five wrong for Mr. Caygill. Thanks for playing and see you next year, when Wrestlemania 33 will last a full fortnight.
