Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan bids farewell on The National Sport front page on Wednesday, July 8 after leaving Al Ain for Shanghai SIPG.
Gyan, 29, spent four successful seasons at Al Ain, scoring 95 goals in 83 games and playing a pivotal role in the club’s three Arabian Gulf League titles in four years.
The Ghanaian was also the top-scorer in last season’s AFC Champions League with 12 goals, firing Al Ain to the semi-finals.
Gyan is now expected to finalise a €20 million (Dh81m) move, where he will be paid €250,000 per week.
The former Sunderland and Rennes striker announced Al Ain “would always have a special place in my heart” as he made his departure.
