The Victory 3 team celebrated their world, European and Middle East championships with start-to-finish dominance in the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Friday.
Arif Saif Al Zafeen and throttleman Mohammed Al Marri again faced little challenge in the proceedings in the UIM Class 1 World Powerboat Championship, qualifying on pole for their Dubai-based team at the race off the coast of Abu Dhabi.
The world title was the 12th for the Victory team and the Middle East title was their sixth.
The race began off the Corniche with a two-mile straight run to the inshore area of the course, off Lulu Island, where the teams did 14 laps.
Victory 3 stretched the lead to nearly 30 seconds through eight laps and still retained a 11.71-second lead at the end of the race.
Luca Fendi Racing 10, with Luca Formilli-Fendi and throttleman Gianpaolo Carpitella aboard, qualified second and were runners-up at the end.
The Zabo-Isiklar team were third followed by Team Abu Dhabi's Rashed Al Tayer and throttleman Majed Al Mansoori, who finished fourth in the event.
