The National’s Sport cover for the Tuesday, April 21 issue, featuring Emirati girl Reem Al Falahi as she compets at the World Children’s Cup jiu-jitsu tournament in Abu Dhabi.

Amith Passela is covering the tournament at Zayed Sports City's IPIC Arena, and writes:

“Reem Al Falahi, widely regarded as a future Emirati champion, is ready to begin her new journey.

“Al Falahi, 16, won her fourth gold medal in four years on Monday at the Jiu-Jitsu Children’s World Cup, which was her last before stepping into the women’s open class.”

Al Falahi told Amith: “It has been a fantastic four years for me at this level and I am confident I can take my game to the next level and be successful as I was in the children’s division.

“I have now spent seven years in the sport and during this period I have learnt to be patient, watch every movement of my opponents and have more tricks under my sleeve during a contest.”
