Transfer talk: Valencia make big play for Benfica’s Enzo Perez

The Portuguese club said on Monday they had given Argentina international Enzo Perez permission to speak to Valencia about a move.

Valencia have made an EU€25 million (Dh111.5m) offer to Benfica for Argentina international midfielder Enzo Perez, the Portuguese champions said on Monday.

Benfica said in a statement they had given the 28-year-old permission to speak to the La Liga side.

Perez was part of the Argentina squad that got to the World Cup final in Brazil in July and has scored once in 15 appearances for the national side.

Perez has appeared in 11 Portuguese Primeira Liga matches this season, scoring once for Benfica.

Valencia are currently fourth in La Liga, in line for Champions League play-off qualification, in a tight a race with a one-point edge on Villarreal, Sevilla and Malaga. The club are four points behind champions Atletico Madrid in third.
