Toure back in training for City and Nasri hits back at 'disrespectful' Arsenal fans

Tottenham Hotspur

Robbie Keane has completed his transfer to the Los Angeles Galaxy, Tottenham have announced. Keane had been in discussions with the MLS club over a move after it became clear that he was surplus to requirements at White Hart Lane. The Republic of Ireland captain admitted earlier this week that he thought his time at Tottenham was coming to an end, and the move to join David Beckham's team in a £3.5million transfer was finally completed.

Manchester City

Kolo Toure, the Manchester City defender, has returned to training after the Football Association lifted some restrictions imposed when the player was banned for six months for taking a prohibited substance. The Ivory Coast international was suspended from all football activity after admitting he had inadvertently taken bendroflumethiazide in some water tablets, packaged as dieting pills, that he obtained through his wife. His ban expires on September 2 and the FA have relaxed certain conditions in order for the 30 year old to work with the squad to get back his sharpness.

Chelsea

John Obi Mikel, the Chelsea midfielder, has appealed for information on the whereabouts of his father, who was abducted in his native Nigeria. Mikel played in Sunday's 0-0 draw at Stoke despite learning a day previously that his father had gone missing. Speaking on Sky Sports, Mikel said he has yet to hear anything regarding his father's whereabouts, and he made a direct appeal for his father's release. "Please just let him go," he said. "He's just an old man, he hasn't done any harm to anyone as far as I know and I don't know why he has been taken."

Arsenal

Samir Nasri has labelled Arsenal fans as "disrespectful" after chanting against him at Newcastle on Saturday. The France midfielder, 24, has been linked with a move to Manchester City. The 24 year old did not feature at St James' Park because of illness, but was the subject of abuse from some sections of the travelling support, who labelled him greedy. Nasri used his Twitter account to hit back. He wrote: "I heard what the fans were singing about me on Saturday and it is really disrespectful because I'm still a [sic] arsenal player." Also, Arsenal and Newcastle were both charged by the Football Association for failing to control their players during Saturday's bad-tempered draw at St James' Park.

West Bromwich Albion

Ishmael Miller, the West Brom striker, has signed for Nottingham Forest. The Championship side have paid an initial £1.2 million (Dh7.1m) for the 24 year old, who has signed a three-year deal at the City Ground. "Ishmael is still a young player, but has loads of experience and a lot to prove," Steve McClaren, the Forest manager, said. Miller began his career at Manchester City and made 17 Premier League appearances before joining West Brom. He spent the second half of last season on loan at QPR.

Newcastle United

Alan Pardew is ready to return to France once again as his search for a striker gathers pace. Having missed out on Kevin Gameiro and Gervinho, and having failed to persuade Mevlut Erding to leave Paris St-Germain, the Newcastle manager has expressed his interest in Sochaux's Modibo Maiga. The Mali international, 23, was quoted by L'Equipe as saying: "I want it to be done with Newcastle. England is a dream. I want to leave, it is necessary that the president agrees to negotiate."

Bolton Wanderers

Glasgow Rangers have confirmed they have rejected a bid in the region of £400,000 from Bolton for Gregg Wylde. The 20-year-old winger is in the final year of his contract and has been the subject of speculation over his future after so far failing to agree a new deal. However, the Scottish champions are keen to retain his services and have rejected an attempt by Bolton to sign the youngster.
