An agreement for Manchester United’s David de Gea to join Real Madrid was on Monday night believed to have been agreed, with Keylor Navas moving the other way.
The deal will also involve a cash payment from the Spanish giants, taking the overall value to €40 million.
Spain international De Gea, 24, has been linked with a move to the Spanish side all summer.

Navas, the Costa Rican keeper, will have a fight on his hands to take the No 1 shirt at United, however, as Sergio Romero has made that position his own this season.
Despite a shaky start to the campaign, United manager Louis van Gaal refused to select De Gea in his starting side as the uncertainty of his future dragged on.
Manchester United’s Javier Hernandez signs with Bayer Leverkusen
Javier Hernandez has joined Bayer Leverkusen from Manchester United, the Bundesliga club have announced.
The Mexico striker, who spent last season on loan at Real Madrid, has signed a three-year contract after the clubs agreed a fee believed to be around £7.3million.
The move was completed on transfer deadline day in Germany.
Hernandez, 27, was on the bench for United’s 2-1 Barclays Premier League defeat at Swansea on Sunday but last started for the team more than a year ago.
He returned to United after scoring nine goals during his spell with Real - including the winner in their Champions League quarter-final against rivals Atletico Madrid - but manager Louis van Gaal has again allowed him to leave.
Hernandez told the Leverkusen website, www.bayer04.de: “I know two of the biggest leagues in Europe in the English Premier League and the Primera Division in Spain and now I want to experience the Bundesliga.
“I’ve heard a lot about the fantastic stadia in Germany and about the unique fans they have there.
“The Bundesliga is an extremely attack-minded league and it’s particularly enticing for me.
“It’s fantastic that I can now play for a club like Leverkusen, who are obviously known to me from the Champions League.
“Bayer Leverkusen is a big opportunity for me and I can and want to achieve a lot here.”
Leverkusen were drawn alongside Barcelona, Roma and BATE Borisov in Group E of the Champions League last week.
The club’s general manager Michael Schade said: “After we finally secured our place in the Champions League, we wanted to send out a clear signal with our attack, and we’ve succeeded in doing this with Javier Hernandez.”
Hernandez scored 59 goals in 156 appearances for United after signing from Chivas in 2010.
West Brom sign Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard
West Brom have signed Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard on a two-year deal.
Baggies boss Tony Pulis has been in the market for a new goalkeeper all summer and has turned his attention to Lindegaard after failing in a bid to sign David Marshall from Cardiff.
West Brom had been in discussions with the Bluebirds about Marshall but refused to meet the Welsh club’s valuation of the player - reported to be £5million.
Lindegaard had a year remaining on his contract at Manchester United but has now headed to the Midlands.
“Since moving to England I’ve been impressed with how well West Brom have done in the Premier League,” Lindegaard said.
“I had a good chat with Tony Pulis - I must call him the ‘gaffer’ now - and he convinced me it would be a good move for me and the club.
“From there things moved very quickly. I was very keen to get it done so I can just concentrate on the thing that matters most, the football.
“I am very happy to join and hope I can make a big contribution this season.”
The 31-year-old, who joined United from Norwegian club Aalesund in January 2011 for a £3.5million fee, found his first-team chances limited, making the last of 29 appearances 16 months ago in a 4-0 victory against Newcastle at St James’ Park.
Lindegaard will provide competition for Boaz Myhill, with regular number one Ben Foster not expected back until October as he recovers from a knee injury.
He is the third player to move from Old Trafford to West Brom this year, following Darren Fletcher and Jonny Evans.
