Stage 3 of the Abu Dhabi Tour takes the lead on The National Sport front page on Sunday, October 11 as Wouter Poels crashes at the summit to hand victory to Esteban Chaves.

Osman Samiuddin was at Jebel Hafeet to witness the climax to the mountain stage.

Russian Grand Prix qualifying features at the top of the page, and while Nico Rosberg took pole ahead of Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton, the headlines were taken up by Carlos Sainz, who suffered a horrific crash, although the Torro Rosso driver escaped the damage unscathed.

Analysing the qualification, Graham Caygill argues why it's now or never for Rosberg to strike if he wants to remain in the title hunt.

The bottom of the page is dedicated to the Rugby World Cup as Australia topped Pool A with a win over Wales.

The Wallabies have been lauded for a defensive masterclass, which has now been nicknamed the ‘Siege of Twickenham’ after valiantly holding off a wave of Wales attacks when reduced to 13 men.

Geoffrey Riddle was at Twickenham for the encounter and offers his thoughts on an impressive Australia display.
