Striker Sergio Aguero (Manchester City). QPR were utterly incapable of stopping the irrepressible Argentine, whose hat-trick meant he closed in on the Golden Boot.
Left midfield David Silva (Manchester City). Provided a masterclass, with some delightful passes and his 12th goal of the season, in Sunday’s 6-0 thrashing of QPR.
Goalkeeper David De Gea (Manchester United). Brilliant saves from Glenn Murray shots helped United earn the win at Crystal Palace that all but secures a top-four finish.
Right-back Kieran Trippier (Burnley). A threat at set pieces and a solid presence in defence as Burnley earned credit in a win at Hull, even if it was not enough to keep them up.
Centre-back Sebastian Coates (Sunderland). A bit-part player this season, the Uruguayan made a rare start and defended doggedly at Goodison Park.
Centre-back Paul Dummett (Newcastle). Made a goal-saving block to frustrate West Brom’s Chris Brunt as Newcastle stopped the rot with a draw after eight straight defeats.
Left-back Patrick van Aanholt (Sunderland). A brilliant solo run was the highlight of the speedy Dutchman’s performance as Sunderland got a surprise away win at Everton.
Right-midfield Philippe Coutinho (Liverpool). The Brazilian’s class was evident again in a man-of-the-match display against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Centre midfield Tom Cleverley (Aston Villa). The winner against West Ham was the third goal in three games for a man who had not struck in the league since 2014.
Centre midfield Charlie Adam (Stoke City). One of the Premier League’s form players added another goal in a hugely influential display as Tottenham were beaten 3-0 at the Britannia Stadium.
Striker Riyad Mahrez (Leicester City). A quick-fire double from the versatile Mahrez secured a sixth win in seven games as Leicester’s remarkable resurgence continued.
