Goalkeeper: Tim Howard (Everton)
At fault for Aleksandar Kolarov’s goal last week, the American responded with a string of saves to keep a clean sheet against Tottenham Hotspur.
Right-back: Joel Ward (Crystal Palace)
The right-back popped up in Chelsea’s six-yard box, and his header secured Crystal Palace’s first win at Stamford Bridge since 1982.
Centre-back: Ashley Williams (Swansea City)
The captain produced a valiant performance as Swansea recorded their third consecutive 2-1 win against Manchester United.
Centre-back: Damien Delaney (Crystal Palace)
Won a physical duel with Diego Costa as he led Palace to a landmark derby win over Chelsea.
Left-back: Nacho Monreal (Arsenal)
Not his toughest game but was solid defensively and could go forward in Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Newcastle United at St James’ Park.
Right midfield: Sadio Mane (Southampton)
Showed why Manchester United have bid for him by playing a part in all three goals as Southampton recorded their first league win.
Centre midfield: Raheem Sterling (Manchester City)
Scored his first goal for City against Watford after being moved into a central role for the second half.
Centre midfield: Mark Noble (West Ham United)
Ignore the red card he should not have been shown. Concentrate on his classy passing and a well-taken goal at Anfield.
Left midfield: Bakary Sako (Crystal Palace)
Tormented Branislav Ivanovic and broke the deadlock at Stamford Bridge with his second goal in as many weeks.
Striker: Manuel Lanzini (West Ham)
The Argentine set West Ham on their way to a first victory at Anfield since 1963 as he scored and starred on his first league start.
Striker: Andre Ayew (Swansea City)
Scored one goal and made the other with an outstanding pass as he and Swansea inflicted a first league defeat on Manchester United.
