West Indies were 106 for 4 at the close of play in their first innings on the second day of the second Test against Pakistan in Abu Dhabi on Saturday.
Jermaine Blackwood and nightwatchman Devendra Bishoo were yet to get off the mark, with West Indies still trailing Pakistan’s first innings total of 452 by 346 runs with six wickets in hand.
Earlier paceman Shannon Gabriel took a career best 5 for 96 and Jason Holder 3 for 47 after Pakistan resumed the day on 304 for 4. Misbah-ul-Haq fell for 96.
Rahat Ali took two of the early wickets, trapping opener Leon Johnson lbw for 12 for the first wicket and getting Marlon Samuels caught out for 30 for the third wicket. Yasir Shah in the meantime trapped Darren Bravo lbw for 43 and Kraigg Brathwaite made a costly mistake in getting run out in the final over of the day’s play.
Pakistan lead the three-match series 1-0 after winning the first Test in Dubai by 56 runs.
