Saudi Arabia is set to stage the boxing heavyweight rematch between Andy Ruiz Jr and Anthony Joshua in December.

Media reports in England claim a deal has been done for the fight to happen on December 7 in Riyadh.

Joshua was beaten by Ruiz Jr on June 1 in New York in one of heavyweight boxing's biggest upsets of all time.

The Daily Telegraph has reported that Ruiz Jr has agreed to put the IBF, WBA and WBO titles that he won from Joshua on the line in the rematch.

Saudi Arabia has already had a taste of hosting international boxing, having staged the World Boxing Super Series tournament in Jeddah last September, which saw Callum Smith prevail over George Groves to claim the Muhammad Ali Trophy.

Then in July Amir Khan defeated Billy Dib at the inaugural Fight Night event in Jeddah.
