The sporting world was left stunned this week with the death of Argentinian football legend Diego Maradona.
The 60-year-old – who had been discharged from hospital earlier this month after undergoing brain surgery – died of a heart attack at home in Tigre, Argentina.
The great and the good of football from across the globe quickly paid tribute to the 1986 World Cup winner and one of the greatest players of all time, from Lionel Messi to Pele and Buenos Aires to Naples, the message was clear: Maradona was a larger than life figure who would be sadly missed.
