Another week, another England batting horror show in the cricket as India completed at 3-1 series victory on Friday.

After losing the third Test inside two days last month, England at least managed to scrape into day 3 at Ahmedabad this time round, although a defeat by an innings and 25 runs in the fourth Test completed what has turned into a miserable series for the tourists.

Rishabh Pant's brilliant century was central to ruthless India's win as they also secured their spot in the World Test Championship final against New Zealand in June.

In football, reigning Premier League champions Liverpool sealed an unwanted record in their 1-0 defeat against Chelsea at Anfield.

Mason Mount's winner meant the Reds slumped to a fifth consecutive home league defeat for the first time in their history.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was also left defending his decision to take off star striker Mohamed Salah in the second half, a decision that was certainly not met with the Egyptian's approval.

While life for Liverpool and Salah is miserable at the moment, the same cannot be said for Tottenham Hotspur and Gareth Bale.

The Welsh attacker, on loan from Real Madrid, has found top gear at Spurs, scoring twice and setting up another for Harry Kane in a 4-0 win over Burnley, admitting after the game that he is 'having fun' back at his former club.
