Snow and ice holds no fear for Rashid Al Ketbi in the second round of the World Rally Championship in Rally Sweden this week, the Emirati having already survived the wintry conditions in Monte Carlo.
Fresh from securing a noteworthy fourth-place finish in the WRC2 category in Monte Carlo, the Skoda Fabia S2000 driver is looking to building on that result in Karlstad.
"The result in Monte Carlo has given me a lot of confidence for Sweden," said the Skydive Dubai Rally Team driver.
"This is going to be a totally different challenge for me. Ensuring I get a finish and score points towards the championship is the priority but I will be trying to push faster as the event progresses and I get used to the stages and the conditions."
Al Ketbi will take part in a pre-event test early this week with his Swedish driver PG Andersson to finalise his set-up for the weekend and give him an even better chance of acclimatising to the snowy stages as fast as possible as he looks to build on the 12 points he scored last month.
The event starts on Thursday and runs until Sunday with 22 stages being held.
