Sunday in the English Premier League saw Chelsea further extend their lead at the top of the table, albeit only by a single point after a draw at Stamford Bridge against Southampton.

Diego Costa opened the scoring for the hosts before Dusan Tadic levelled from the penalty spot.

Chelsea dominated the second half and missed a host of chances to win the game, but the visitors held on to take a share of the spoils.

In one of the later kick-offs, Manchester United produced arguably their best performance of the season to beat Tottenham 3-0 at Old Trafford.

Striker Wayne Rooney ensured he grabbed the headlines after celebrating his goal with a mock knockout punch in response to his now infamous video. There were also goals for Marouane Fellaini and Michael Carrick.

Elsewhere, Everton earned their first league win at Goodison Park for three months with a 3-0 victory over Newcastle. James McCarthy, Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley were on the scoresheet.
