Liverpool's patchy home form will come under the microscope again tonight when third-placed Tottenham Hotspur visit but Kenny Dalglish, the manager, does not believe there is much wrong with his methods, only results.
Spurs are the only side to have beaten Liverpool at Anfield since the Scot took over for a second spell in charge last January, winning 2-0 in the penultimate fixture of last season.
However, this campaign a number of clubs have left Merseyside more than happy with a point as the likes of newcomers Norwich City and Swansea City, as well as relegation candidates Blackburn Rovers, have contributed to seven draws in 11 games.
It is to their credit, after dropping 14 points at home, that Liverpool still remain in contention for a top-four finish.
"We could have - and I think we deserve - a lot more points than what we have got," Dalglish said.
"I think the performances have deserved it but we haven't got them. We'll just keep plugging away. We believe in what we're doing and the way we're going about our work has, in the main, been in the right way, so we'll just continue to do that."
Luis Suarez returns to the squad as the striker has served his eight-match ban after being found guilty of racially abusing the Manchester United defender Patrice Evra.
Spurs arrive at Anfield with Gareth Bale in superb form. The Welsh winger has scored 11 goals this season to help turn Tottenham in to title contenders.
"You can see he is full of confidence at the moment," Kevin Bond, the Spurs assistant manager, said. "He is improving and I think there is still more to come from him."
While there have been no qualms about Bale's performances, concerns have been raised about the form of Emmanuel Adebayor. The striker started his career at Tottenham in fine style, but he has failed to find the net in his last seven games.
"He's been terrific for us," Bond said. "He's chased people down, he's everywhere and anywhere. The fact that he hasn't hit the net recently doesn't mean he hasn't made a big contribution.
"He's had a few chances that haven't gone in lately. That's how it is for strikers but we're not dwelling on that."
