Hussey to miss England tour following premature birth of baby

Peter Forrest to take veteran batsman's place after baby is born three months early.

SYDNEY // Batsman Mike Hussey has pulled out of the upcoming tour of England following the premature birth of his fourth child.

The 37-year-old has opted to remain with his family, meaning Peter Forrest will take his place in the squad.

Hussey said in a statement on www.cricket.com.au: "Due to our baby being born three months early, it is important for the family for me to be here at this time.

"It is always difficult to miss any tour for Australia and I thank CA for their understanding of our family's situation."

Cricket Australia confirmed they supported Hussey's decision.

Australia will play five one-day internationals against England and one with Ireland in the tour, which starts later this month.
