Huh is aiming to make history

History is not on his side, but the South Korea coach Huh Jung-moo is sure his men can leave Iran with three points under their belts. The Koreans have never won in Iran but go into Wednesday night's clash at the Azadi Stadium on top of Group Two, which includes the UAE, two points ahead of their rivals. Having ended a six-match losing streak in Saudi Arabia in November, Huh now believes his side can do something similar in Tehran, particularly as European stars such as Park Ji-sung and Lee Young-Pyo are back with the squad.

"I've analysed all of Iran's recent matches and know all about them and their weaknesses," Huh said. Huh, 54, however, criticised the facilities in Tehran. "The training pitch we've been given is of poor quality and could injure any of our players at any time," he added. Iran, meanwhile, have been boosted by the decision of Vahid Hashemian to make himself available despite the death of his mother last week. In Group Two's other game, North Korea host Saudi Arabia. The worst case scenario for the UAE is that they will be left six points off the qualification pace with four games to play after tonight's matches.
