Green plays catch-up with Hendry

DUBAI // Tom Green narrowed the gap with Daniel Hendry at the top of the Emirates Golf Federation's Junior Order of Merit for Boys after winning the Ras Al Khaimah Junior Open at Al Hamra Golf Club. The Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club player carded a gross 70 to beat Hendry (Emirates Golf Club) by two shots with Philip Urasch, also of EGC, third on a gross 74. The victory took Green's Order of Merit tally to 88.5 points while Hendry maintained his position at the top with 94 points. Urasch is third with 73 points.

With the top three still in the running for the title, the final event on the Order of Merit - the Emirates Junior Open - promises to be an intense battle at the Emirates Golf Club on May 1. The race for the Net division title also picked up steam with Harley Knight, of Emirates Golf Club, holding on to his top position with 51.5 points, just ahead of Green (43) and Hendry (43). Golfers from Emirates Golf Club occupy the top five positions.

Meanwhile, Diya Chopra consolidated her position at the top of the Junior Order of Merit for Girls after winning the RAK Junior Open. The Dubai Creek golfer shot a stunning net 69 to beat Shloka Desai and Boushra Dalile, who both carded an identical net 76, by a seven shots. Chopra leads the Order of Merit table with 75 points, thee ahead of Desai. Dalile, of EGF, is third on 56 points with her fellow club members Line Dalile (55) and Kevita Sehmi (47) in fourth and fifth respectively. * Agency
