Muscat // Joshua White backed up his record-setting first round with a solid three-under 69 on Tuesday and continues to top the leaderboard at the Mena Tour’s inaugural Ghala Valley Open in Oman.
The Englishman, 22, whose 65 on Monday set a course record at Ghala Valley Golf Club, stands 10 under, four shots clear of Mexico’s Roberto Rodriguez Cacho, who shot 71.
“I didn’t start all that well, but I picked up momentum as the round wore on,” White said. “I hit most of the fairways and greens, and when you do that, you can expect a good score.”
Five shots back is Morocco’s Ahmed-Reda Rhazali after a second-round 70. He is tied for third with Monaco’s Sandro Piaget, who climbed the leaderboard with a bogey-free round of 66.
The low amateur is Switzerland’s Michael Harradine at three under.
