The football world is still reeling from early Thursday's remarkable Barcelona comeback victory over Paris Saint-Germain. The celebrating Spanish giants take the Sport cover for the Friday, March 10, 2017, edition of The National.
Our Andy Mitten was there and recounts the scenes from Camp Nou:
“Up in the packed glass fronted press box on the third tier, hundreds of journalists frantically re-wrote their match reports as Barca became the first ever team to come back from a 4-0 reverse. The odds were against them doing it — they were given a seven per cent chance — but Barcelona have been excellent in recent weeks, putting six past Sporting Gijon last Wednesday — Enrique didn’t celebrate that one quite so enthusiastically — and five past a Celta Vigo side who had beaten them earlier in the season.”
No stranger to the highest European stage himself, Diego Forlan writes about a thrilling set of Uefa Champions League fixtures:
“There were so many goals in the Champions League this week. Borussia Dortmund won 4-0 against Benfica to become the second German team in the last eight. It looks like Atletico Madrid will join Barca and Real Madrid there, with Sevilla possibly the fourth Spanish team.
“The Spanish dominance remains, but the game everyone is talking about was at Camp Nou, which saw seven goals.”
