Al Ain duo Asamoah Gyan and Omar Abdulrahman take The National Sport front page on Friday, March 3 after combining to hand their side a vital 1-0 victory over rivals Al Ahli.
The 1-0 victory over the reigning Arabian Gulf League champions means Al Ain now hold a seven-point lead over second-placed Al Jazira, although the Abu Dhabi side have a game in hand and will take on strugglers Ittihad Kalba on Friday evening.
For Al Ahli, their Super Cup victory over Al Ain last week failed to inspire them to back-to-back wins over their rivals and the title they won so convincingly last season has been all but surrendered.
