All four Arabic speaking football teams failed to make it out of the World Cup group stages in Russia, denying many local businesses the chance of a World Cup bonanza.
The record number of Arabic speaking teams and the prominence of Egyptian star Mohamed Salah had created a rise in interest and footfall at many outlets showing the games. Saudi Arabia beat Egypt two goals to one in the last game of the tournament for both teams.
