Tammy Abraham and Ross Barkley spoil Antoine Griezmann's Barcelona debut as Chelsea win in Japan

Tammy Abraham and Ross Barkley both struck for Chelsea as they defeated Spanish La Liga champions Barcelona 2-1 in Japan in Tuesday's pre-season friendly.

The focus ahead of the game in Saitama had been around Barcelona's new signing Antoine Griezmann making his bow after his move from Atletico Madrid.

But it was Abraham and Barkley who took centre stage as Lampard's young side showed encouraging form ahead of the start of the Premier League season in August.

Abraham opened the scoring in the 34th minute as he latched on to a loose ball after Jorginho had blocked a Sergio Busquets pass to round Marc-Andre ter Stegen and find the net.

Barkley then wrapped up the victory nine minutes from time with a curling effort from the edge of the area.

Barcelona did get a consolation goal in stoppage time as Ivan Rakitic found the net, but it was not enough to deny Chelsea the victory.

Both side made a number of changes throughout the match, with Griezmann playing the first 45 minutes for Barcelona before being replaced.
