Spurs midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has made the most passes this season – but who is the Premier League all-time pass master?

It would be fair to say that Jose Mourinho must be pleased with how his Tottenham Hotspur side have started this season.

Spurs sit second in the table – one point behind leaders Leicester City – having not lost a game since the campaign's opening weekend.

The team is second top of the goalscoring charts, with 19 goals, while also having the joint best defensive record, conceding nine.

Son Heung-min is joint top scorer, Harry Kane has provided the most assists and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg – Mourinho's £15 million ($19.7m) signing from Southampton – leads the way when it comes to completed passes.

His 659 passes to teammates leave him 21 clear of Everton defender Michael Keane and 55 ahead of another summer arrival in North London, Arsenal's Gabriel.

Last season, Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk was the runaway winner with an impressive 3,259 passes out of defence for the champions, a huge 680 ahead of the next best – Manchester City midfielder Rodrigo, who currently sits fifth in this season's ranking.

In the picture gallery above, we take a look at who makes up the top 10 most passes this season and the Premier League's all-time pass master. To view the next image, click on the arrows or just swipe.
