Sheffield United have been a sensation - but which players earn the most money? All the wages - in pictures

Sheffield United have certainly been the unlikely stars of the Premier League this season.

Chris Wilder's team, in League One three seasons ago, are fifth from top with 12 games left and dreaming of qualifying for a major European competition for the first time in the club's 130-year history.

They were the team tipped to finish bottom of the pile, yet are sitting above Tottenham, Manchester United, Everton and Arsenal, among others, with an incredible 39 points after 26 games.

Their win over Bournemouth on Sunday means Europe is a real possibility, though there will be no talk like that from Wilder.

After such an incredible campaign you can only hope the players are being properly rewarded - or at least some big bonuses heading their way.

It's fair to say their players are not among the biggest earners in the Premier League.

According to Sportrac, an online sports team and player contract website, one player is out on his own as top earner, a defender who pockets an annual salary of £2.6 million (Dh12.3m), or £50,000 a week.

Above is a photo gallery of 18 Sheffield United players and their weekly salaries. The figures were recorded at the start of the 2019/20 season, and do not include any new and improved terms signed by any players, or some undisclosed wages.
