Premier League predictions: Manchester City sweep aside Palace, Manchester United and Liverpool all square

We pick out the winners and losers from the latest round of English top-flight fixtures

FRIDAY - Southampton v Leicester (11pm kick-off UAE): Forget about that Jamie Vardy chap, there's a new Foxes goal machine in town. Kelechi Iheanacho continued his prolific run in front of goal by scoring the later winner at home to Crystal Palace last week, making it 12 goals in nine games. He will fancy his chances of adding to that tally against Southampton's porous defence. Prediction: Southampton 1 Leicester 3. EPA

SATURDAY - Crystal Palace v Manchester City (3.30pm): The finishing line is now very much in sight for champions-elect City. Two more wins - or just one win here if Manchester United lose to Liverpool on Sunday - and Pep Guardiola's side can add the Premier League title to the League Cup they won at Wembley last week. Three of those points should be in the bag here, up against a Palace side with just one win in seven games. Prediction: Palace 0 City 2. PA

Brighton v Leeds (6pm): After taking five points out of nine against the two Manchester clubs and Liverpool in their last three games, it would be typical of Marcelo Bielsa's maverick outfit to lose against struggling Brighton. The Seagulls have managed just one goal in four matches since their 3-0 victory at Newcastle - including a defeat at hapless bottom club Sheffield United last week. It should be an away banker but Leeds are reliably unreliable. Prediction: Brighton 1 Leeds 1. Getty

Chelsea v Fulham (8.30pm): Another nail in Fulham's relegation coffin as Scott Parker's side, seven points adrift from safety, take on their in-form London neighbours at Stamford Bridge. One freak defeat to West Brom aside, the Blues have been revitalised under Thomas Tuchel and look in a good place to seal a top-four spot. Prediction: Chelsea 3 Fulham 0. EPA

Everton v Aston Villa (11pm): Everton kept themselves in the hunt for a European spot next season with a draw and a win against Spurs and Arsenal in their last two games. Carlo Ancelotti's side are eighth in the table but only three points off fifth place with a game in hand. For Villa, it is no coincidence that they have won just twice in the 10 games that captain Jack Grealish has been out injured. Prediction: Everton 2 Villa 0. Reuters

SUNDAY - Newcastle v Arsenal (5pm): Unlike other sides fighting to avoid the drop, Newcastle have managed to eke out points when it mattered most. Taking eight out of a possible 12 points in their last four games has all but secured the Magpies' top-flight status. Arsenal, meanwhile, are marooned in mid-table and need to win the Europa League if they want to play European football again next season. Prediction: Newcastle 2 Arsenal 1.

Manchester United v Liverpool (7.30pm): One set of noisy neighbours might be running away with the title, but United can gain some solace by beating their rivals from Merseyside at Old Trafford. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said his side don't deserve Champions League football after missing out on crucial wins in their last two games. Defeat here would be a body blow to any lingering hopes. Prediction: United 1 Liverpool 1. EPA

Tottenham Hotspur v Sheffield United (10.15pm): After the European Super League debacle, sacking Jose Mourinho, losing the League Cup final and the future of Harry Kane looking increasingly uncertain, taking on the Premier League bottom side should provide some welcome relief for beleaguered Spurs fans. Prediction: Spurs 4 Sheffield United 1. Reuters

MONDAY - West Brom v Wolves (9pm): A Midlands derby between two clubs enduring a season to forget. West Brom's seven points out of a possible 12 have come too little, too late and they remain nine points from safety with five games to go. Wolves, 12th in the table, fell to a humiliating 4-0 home defeat to Burnley last week but are at least safe in the knowledge they will be playing top-flight football next season. Prediction: West Brom 2 Wolves 1. AP

Burnley v West Ham (11.15pm): A brilliant hat-trick from Chris Wood last week saw Burnley thrash Wolves 4-0 and took them a massive step closer to Premier League survival. Fifth-place West Ham fell to a second defeat on the trot when they lost 1-0 to Chelsea and have Liverpool, Spurs and Everton breathing down their necks in the race for a European place. Prediction: Burnley 1 West Ham 0. PA

We are now hurtling down the home straight in the Premier League season.

The title and bottom three spots look pretty set in stone already but the race for European places is still very much ongoing.

Third-placed Leicester City kick-off this weekend's action when they face Southampton at St Mary's Stadium.

On Saturday, champions-elect City take on Crystal Palace in the capital while Leeds United are also heading south for a game against Brighton. Chelsea then clash with London neighbours Fulham before Everton's home game versus Aston Villa.

Sunday sees Newcastle United entertain Arsenal at St James' Park before the game of the weekend when Manchester United play host to old rivals Liverpool. Spurs against Sheffield United in London finishes off the day's action.

The Midlands derby between West Bromwich Albion and Wolves, followed by Burnley against West Ham at Turf Moor, complete the latest round of fixtures on Monday.
