The Premier League wants footballers from the division's 20 clubs to take a 30 per cent pay cut to cope with losses caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Here we take a look at how those proposals will affect the highest earners at Sheffield United, the promoted club who have taken the division by storm and are currently seventh with ambitions of securing Europa League football.

The money the players agree to forgo is expected to go to good causes, including protective equipment for frontline health workers and towards salaries of non-playing staff members also forced to take wage cuts.

Above is a picture gallery of Sheffield United's highest earning players and how much they stand to forgo in the event of agreeing a 30 per cent wage cut.
