Manuel Pellegrini, the Manchester City manager, has ruled out a January window loan move for Joe Hart, right, after talk the under-fire goalkeeper could be on his way out.
Pellegrini also dismissed reports he might use the transfer window to sign a keeper.
Hart's inconsistent displays saw him lose his place in the City side and he has not played in the past five league matches.
He will start Wednesday night in the Champions League at home to Viktoria Plzen.
Pellegrini said: "There is a lot of news about six or seven goalkeepers that we want to buy but it is not true. There is no chance that Joe Hart could go out of this squad in January."
? Paris Saint-Germain v Olympiakos
Attack-minded Paris Saint-Germain must shift their focus to becoming a tighter defensive unit if they are to keep improving, coach Laurent Blanc said. PSG, who will qualify for the Uefa Champions League last 16 if they at least draw at home against Olympiakos on Wednesday, have scored in every game since their last defeat, a 1-0 reverse at Stade Reims on March 2. "We've scored goals since the start of the season, the mentality you need is not to concede any. Everyone needs this mentality, the strikers and the defenders," Blanc said yesterday. "Considering how many we score, if we don't concede we have a great chance to win games." PSG have no problem finding the back of the net with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani having scored 27 goals between them this season in the Champions League and Ligue 1.
? Juventus v Copenhagen
Antonio Conte, the Juventus coach, is desperate for his players to recreate their Serie A form in the crunch Champions League clash with Copenhagen. The Turin giants host the Danes in search of their first win in the competition this season after three draws and one defeat in Group B. Those results have left Juve at the foot of the pool, seven points behind leaders Real Madrid. "My team is doing really well in Serie A," Conte said. "To have collected 34 points in 13 games is very positive. We hope we can take a good result on Wednesday. We are in an interesting situation in the Champions League as qualification is in our hands and we don't depend on anyone but ourselves. I see the team really motivated to do well and we will do all we can to progress to the next round."
? CSKA Moscow v Bayern Munich
Mario Mandzukic will miss Bayern Munich's Champions League game against CSKA Moscow in Russia after failing to recover in time from a calf muscle injury. The Croat, who has scored eight goals in the Bundesliga and another two in Europe this season, remained in Munich for treatment as the holders seek to seal top spot in Group D after already booking their ticket for the knockout stage. "We need at least one point," club chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said. "Then our position will be outstanding going into the last game against Manchester City because we want to win the group."
? Shakhter Donetsk v Real Sociedad
Mircea Lucescu, the Shakhtar Donetsk coach, says his side's lack of goals has made life more difficult for them in Group A. The Ukrainians have scored just three times in four matches but remain in with a chance of qualifying. They host Real Sociedad looking to improve on their third place. "Goals, unfortunately, cannot be scored due to talent alone," he said. "They are often scored due to a lot of experience, unfortunately our players do not have that much of it."
? Anderlecht v Benfica
Benfica will again be without top scorer Oscar Cardozo as they try to keep alive their hopes of advancing. The Paraguay forward, who has racked up nine goals in 12 games this season, remains sidelined with a recurring back injury. He has not played since netting a hat-trick against Sporting Lisbon earlier this month. The victory over Anderlecht in Lisbon in the opening round has been Benfica's only win so far in the tournament.
