Official: Liverpool have the most valuable players in Europe

Liverpool's stunning success at home and in Europe has elevated them to becoming the most valuable set of players in Europe.

According to the latest research from the CIES Football Observatory, Jurgen Klopp manages the most valuable squad in the transfer market from Europe's top-five leagues.

Liverpool, leading the Premier League by a record 25 points, have assembled an amazing squad of players, led by Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

CIES has put an aggregated value of £1.27bn (Dh 5.72bn) on the Reds, top of the list ahead of Manchester City in second.

From the Premier League, Chelsea are fifth, while Manchester United and Tottenham are also in the top ten.

Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid and third and fourth in the table.

Paris St-Germain's World Cup winning forward Kylian Mbappe, 21, has the highest transfer value at more than £227m.

The CIES use a number of variables, including the age of the player, performances, career progression

economic value of their club and inflation, to work out the values.
