Mohamed Salah took part in training with the rest of the Egypt squad ahead of Friday's opening of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

The hosts will open the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) with a match against Zimbabwe in Group A on Friday. The match takes place at midnight (Saturday) UAE time.

Also in Egypt's group are DR Congo and Uganda.

Salah, who crowned another excellent season at Liverpool by lifting the Uefa Champions League trophy on June 1, will spearhead home hopes of winning a record-extending eighth Afcon title.

The forward, who scored 22 Premier League goals as Liverpool lost out on the Premier League title by a single point to Manchester City, carries the hopes of a nation desperate to see their talisman transfer his club form on to the international stage.
