Manchester City will travel to Abu Dhabi next week for a warm-weather training camp.
The Premier League leaders, 16 points clear at the summit with nine matches remaining, will fly to the UAE after Monday’s trip to Stoke City. They will return to England the following Saturday.
Abu Dhabi-owned City have been regular visitors to the Emirates and spent time in the capital during February last year. They trained at Emirates Palace hotel.
“This is an ideal opportunity for the players to enjoy some sunshine and prepare for the challenges that still lie ahead,” City manager Pep Guardiola told the club’s official website. “We flew out to Abu Dhabi last year and it will be a pleasure to return this year.”
City will hope to arrive in Abu Dhabi not only on the back of victory at Stoke City, but having secured safe passage through to the Uefa Champions League quarter-finals. On Wednesday, they host Swiss side Basel at the Etihad Stadium in the last-16 second leg. City are 4-0 up in the tie.
