The second weekend of English Premier League football kicked off on Saturday, August 23, 2014 as 12 teams were in action.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho was not impressed with his team's lazy performance in a 2-0 win over Leicester while Newcastle United played to a 0-0 draw with Aston Villa.

The late match featured a thrilling comeback from Arsenal as Oliver Giroud scored in the 90th minute to take two points away from Everton.

Sunday's EPL slate has three more games while the weekend's marque matchup will feature Liverpool visiting Manchester City on Monday night.
