Champions League predictions: Borussia Dortmund outgun PSG in tie of the week, while the Liverpool machine keeps on rolling against Atletico Madrid

  Atletico Madrid v Liverpool, Tuesday, midnight: Jurgen Klopp's reigning champions of Europe and Club World Cup winners are closing in on their first domestic title for 30 years and threatening to smash all sorts of records along the way. From Alisson Becker in goal to Mohamed Salah up front, the Reds are a formidable proposition for any team at the moment.   Borussia Dortmund v Paris Saint-Germain, Tuesday, midnight: The week's glamour tie between two free-scoring sides. In Jadon Sancho and Erling Braut Haaland, Dortmund have two of Europe's hottest young properties who both cannot stop scoring in the Bundesliga. The French reigning champions, meanwhile, are hurtling towards another Ligue 1 title and can call on the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Mauro Icardi and Neymar for their goal threats - although the Brazilian has been struggling with a rib injury.   Atalanta v Valencia, Wednesday, midnight: The Italian side, taking part in their first Champions League, produced the story of the group stage after battling back losing their first three games - including heavy 4-0 and 5-1 defeats - to clinch a last-16 spot. A superb 3-0 away to Shakhtar Donetsk in their final Group C game put Gian Piero Gasperini's surprise packages through. Valencia sealed their qualification with a 1-0 win at last season's semi-finalists Ajax, thanks to a Rodrigo strike, and topped Group H on goal difference from Chelsea. Getty.   Tottenham Hotspur v RB Leipzig, Wednesday, midnight: With England striker Harry Kane out injured, manager Jose Mourinho is relying on Son Heung-Min for his goals and the South Korean has 16 to his name already. The Portuguese has been complaining long and loud about the fact his team have to play three times in a week with this game sandwiched between two domestic fixtures against Aston Villa and Chelsea. Leipzig, after a flying start to their Bundesliga campaign, have stalled a bit of late but did enjoy a 3-0 win over Werder Bremen on Saturday. Getty. PREDICTION: Tottenham Hotspur 2 RB Leipzig 1

The Champions League is back with a bang this week with a couple of blockbuster battles to start the action.

On Tuesday, reigning champions Liverpool travel to the Spanish capital and take on Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

Jurgen Klopp's side currently lead the Premier League table by a whopping 25 points after their win 1-0 at Norwich City on Saturday and could clinch their first domestic title for 30 years as early as next month.

Atletico, managed by Diego Simeone, are fourth in La Liga after their 2-2 draw with Valencia but are not troubling Real Madrid and Barcelona in the title race and are in danger of missing out on a Champions League place next season.

Also on Tuesday, in one of the ties of the round, Bundesliga title hopefuls Borussia Dortmund take on French champions Paris Saint-Germain at Signal Iduna Park.

All eyes will be on Dortmund's teen sensation Erling Braut Haaland who has hit the ground running since moving to Germany, scoring nine goals in six games. Former Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel will be in charge of PSG.

The following day sees Serie A side Atalanta play host to Spain's Valencia, while Tottenham Hotspur face German outfit RB Leipzig in London.
