Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang continued his fine Wembley form as he scored the opener, and then the winning penalty, as Arsenal won the Community Shield.

Arsenal's captain scored his fifth goal in recent months at the stadium as they finished the 90 minutes at 1-1 against Liverpool.

He then took the last spot-kick in the shootout, as his side won the trophy for the 16th time.

Substitute Takumi Minamino had scored his first goal for Liverpool to level the encounter.

They lost out for the second time in successive seasons in this fixture on penalties, after Rhian Brewster saw his first and only kick of the game hit the bar and sail over.
