UAE turned out to be the perfect venue for an interaction on integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and the sports industry.

The Dubai Artificial Intelligence in Sports (DAIS) Conference and Exhibition tried to bring the two closer with some of the leading names in the world of sport and AI looking at what is possible.

Dr Christian Guttmann, one of the pioneers in the field of AI and machine learning, said sport is set for a major change.

However, Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, who was one of the star attractions at the event, said human intelligence will always be highly valuable in the world of sport.

"Artificial intelligence plays a very important role now, but in my view human intelligence remains the most important," he said.
