Alvaro Morata took part in his first training session with his new Chelsea teammates in Singapore on Monday as they prepare for Tuesday's clash against German champions Bayern Munich in the International Champions Cup.

Morata, who joined for a fee of around £70 million (Dh335m) from Real Madrid last week, was put through his paces along with the rest of the squad at the National Stadium in Singapore by manager Antonio Conte and his coaching staff.

Conte confirmed the former Juventus striker is in line for his first start for the Premier League champions in Tuesday's game.

"My plan is to give him the possibility to play part of the game, but not from the start because he only arrived yesterday and started to work with us," Conte told reporters in Singapore.

"Morata is a young player who has a lot of experience in his career because he played with two big teams in Real Madrid and Juventus. He has also played a lot of games in the Champions League and won it last season.

"He can have a big impact in the Premier League. It’s different if you compare it to leagues in other countries because it’s very tough and physically it’s strong, but Morata is ready to have a big impact."

One player absent from the drill was Pedro, after Conte confirmed to reporters on Monday that the Spain forward sustained "multiple fractures" to his face after colliding with Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina during their 3-0 win in Beijing on Saturday.
