Goalless Premier League draw at Molineux after a game of few chances

  WOLVES PLAYER RATINGS: Rui Patricio – 6. Started a quick break when he fielded a Maddison free kick in the first half, but otherwise had little to do thanks to the solidity of the defence in front of him. AP

  Conor Coady – 7. Had to be tenacious to block out the twin threat of Barnes and Iheanacho, but coped capably. Reuters

  Willian Jose – 5. Cut a frustrated figure throughout. Curiously short on ammunition, despite the excellence of the two wingers, Traore and Neto. Made way for Silva in the second half. AFP

  Pedro Neto – 7. Made hay down the Wolves left flank, starting with a slaloming run past Tielemans and Evans set up a chance for Traore in the 15th minute. His threat was diluted after the break, though. Getty Images

  Ki-Jana Hoever – 6. Showed he meant business with a driving run up the left flank after his first touch once he came on at half time. Might have been nervous when he gave away a late free kick in a dangerous position. Reuters

  Fabio Silva – 5. Spurned golden opportunity to score, although it might have been as much down to the excellence of Schmeichel as his own lack of precision. PA

  Morgan Gibbs-White – NA. Only given three minutes at the end after coming on for Neto (no match photo available). EPA

  LEICESTER PLAYER RATINGS: Kasper Schmeichel – 7. Had nothing to do until the 78th minute, at which point he pounced to prevent Silva from scoring when the substitute was clean through on goal. AP

  Ricardo Pereira – 6. Struggled to keep track of Neto, but crucially managed to spoil a chance when the winger looked set to score from a Traore cross in the second half. AFP

  Jonny Evans – 6. Might have been fearing worse punishment than a yellow card for his rough challenge on Jose. Aimed a lot of long balls forward to Iheanacho and then Vardy, but few found their target. AP

  Caglar Soyuncu – 7. Yellow carded for an unceremonious block on a charging Traore, after a cheap giveaway by Choudhry, but made light work of Jose when he was on. EPA

  James Justin – 6. Made an important block on Traore to keep the score at 0-0, but had his problems dealing with the pace of the Spanish winger. PA

  Youri Tielemans – 6. Needed to be savvy when he picked Traore’s pocket in the second half – one of the few occasions when Leicester used fair means to stop the flying winger. Botched a shooting chance late on. AP

  Hamza Choudhury – 7. His high pressing made some chances from nothing in the first half, but they came to nothing. Nearly undid his good work when his sloppiness let Traore off the leash, but Soyuncu covered for him. EPA

  James Maddison – 6. Ever eager, but his end product was uncharacteristically limp. Had two soft shots at Patricio in the first half. Even he had a go at chopping down Traore, earning him a yellow card. EPA

  Ayoze Perez – 6. His most notable contribution was tracking back, when he made a vital interception with Wolves breaking fast in the second half. He made way for Albrighton not long after. EPA

  Kelechi Iheanacho – 6. He did have his chances, like when he saw two shots blocked in quick succession in the first half, but he also cut a lonely figure up front at times, too. AP

  Harvey Barnes – 8. Created an opening with a sublime touch, but Maddison’s ensuing cross was behind Iheanacho. His brilliant interchange of passes with the Nigerian made another good chance shortly after. EPA

  SUBS: Jamie Vardy – 7. Came on as a second-half sub, just three weeks after hernia surgery. Scarcely touched the ball, but his movement was so much more threatening than Iheanacho’s. Glanced a header wide in injury time. PA

  Marc Albrighton – 7. Aimed a threatening cross towards fellow substitute Vardy, but it was turned away by some last ditch Wolves defence. Repeated the trick in the final throes, but Vardy's header went wide. PA

Jamie Vardy saw an injury-time header flash just wide of the post as Leicester City were held to a goalless draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.

The Foxes striker came on as a second-half substitute on his return after surgery last month.

He combined with fellow substitute Marc Albrighton late on, but his header glanced wide of Rui Patricio’s goal, as a sterile match ended 0-0.
