AC Milan banned from 2019/20 Europa League over financial fair play infringements

The Serie A side excluded after CAS back Uefa's ruling that violations of the rules had been made

AC Milan have been banned from European football next season over breaches of financial fair play rules, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) announced on Friday.

European football's governing body Uefa had accused the club of violating financial fair play (FFP) regulations over the past three seasons and CAS ruled in their favour, meaning the Italian side will now be excluded from competing in the 2019/20 Europa League campaign.

"AC Milan is excluded from participating in Uefa club competitions of the sporting season 2019/2020 as a consequence of the breach of its FFP break-even obligations" for the past three seasons, the court ruled.
